In bodybuilding, among the most common terms used to refer to muscles that are being developed through a series of exercises are biceps, triceps, pectoral muscles, the abs, lats, deltoid and the pecs muscles.

Biceps, which refer to biceps brachii, mean two heads that are located on the upper arm.  These mucles rotate the forearm and to the elbow.

Triceps, or triceps brachii, means three heads.  These muscles are found on the back of the arm that connect to the shoulder blade.  They are responsible for straightening of the arm.

Quadriceps, or quadriceps femoris, refer to a large muscle group that includes four prevailing muscles on the front of the thigh.

Lats, or latissimus dorsi, is a large muscle at the back.  This is a large, flat, dorso-lateral muscle that forms a triangle from the shoulder to the hip.

Deltoid is the major shoulder muscle.

Pecs or pectoral muscles are the muscles on the chest.  These muscles include the pectoralis major and the pectoralis minor.

Abs refer to the muscles of the abdomen.  There are various abdominal muscles, including the rectus abdominis or rectus abdominus, transverse abdominus or transversus, internal obliques, and external obliques.
