The Bible contains the Word of God.  The Christian Bible consists of the Old Testament and the New Testament, with a total of 66 books.

The Old Testament is composed of 39 books that are grouped into three divisions.  The Law, which is Torah in Hebrew and Pentateuch among Christians, consists of the first five books of the Old Testament.  The Prophets consists of 21 books while the Writings is composed of 13 books.

The 39 books of the Old Testament are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi.

The New Testament of the Bible explains the birth of the Son of God Jesus Christ as a man, His sacrifice, His death, and His triumph for the salvation of mankind.  It is composed of 27 books.  The New Testament has four main divisions: the Gospels (4 books), the Acts of the Apostles (1 book), the Epistles or letters (21 books), and the Revelation of John (1 book).

The 27 books of the New Testament of the Bible are Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Jude, and Revelation.
