Wimax, which stands for worldwide interoperability for microwave access, is a standards-based technology designed to enable the deployment of wireless broadband access as a cost-efficient alternative to cable and DSL.

Globe Telecom of the Philippines claims to have the widest wimax coverage in Southeast Asia. Globe says its wimax is the latest generation wireless broadband, which is the most stable and most reliable among all wireless broadband technologies in the market today.

Globe offers the high-speed wireless broadband for as low as P795 a month. Globe said its WiMAX service has reached over 100,000 subscriber mark as of June 2010.

Globe's wimax coverage areas now include parts of Metro Manila, Western Visayas, Central and Northern Mindanao.

Globe wimax is an easy to use, plug n' play modem, with no strings attached.  It has an option for Wifi-enabled router, which makes it easier to share the connection.
